PETER GALLAGHER Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 7 p.m. Last fall, Tony-nominated actor/singer Peter Gallagher made Bay Area Cabaret history with the West Coast debut of his show Songs & Stories from an Actor’s Life. Although best known for his film (The Idolmaker, American Beauty, sex, lies and videotape, While you were Sleeping) and television (The O.C., Covert Affairs, Whitney) roles, Mr. Gallagher is an accomplished Broadway singer/actor, having received critical acclaim opposite Patti LuPone in Pal Joey and a Tony nomination for his portrayal of Skye Masterson in Guys and Dolls, and his cabaret show is receiving accolades from coast to coast. Directly following a two-week run this fall at Feinstein’s in New York, Mr. Gallagher will make an encore appearance at the Venetian Room, with real life stories from his early days starting out as a young actor in New York to working with legends like James Cagney, Peter O'Toole and Jack Lemmon. Joined by a live band, Gallagher brings his anecdotes to life with songs ranging from Broadway tunes, to music from his hit television show The OC, to classics by the likes of Van Morrison and Burt Bacharach. Never in Bay Area Cabaret's history have we presented the same show in two consecutive seasons, but this one is an exception. Yes, it's that good.
